Fully Alive

"Moments come and go so fast, but they are what make up the whole of life. Little bitty moments here and there. They turn into hours and days and weeks- ultimately an entire lifetime. When I consciouly think about that, it makes me want to slow down. Sometimes I can't slow down. I don't have the time to go slowly. But I capture a moment in a posstcard or photograph. Then, years later it all comes back to me as a sweet gift to myself.
Life is short and everything is irrevocable. No matter what we do to lengthen the moment we can't. No matter how eager we are to shorten uncomfortable events, that can't be done either. If we don't learn to live fully in the present, much of life passes us by, lost in the cobwebs of time forever. The passage of time can't be retrieved except in our memory banks. Thats why we must be all there at any given moment. Even during the times that are frightening or difficult.
Everyting has a purpose, and if we don't want to miss that purpose and the adventure along the way, then we must be conscious, alert, curious, open-hearted. When we capture the moment we're in, we're fully alive."

One Big Nite Ahead

“Big ass bottles, Big Ice buckets
I work too hard to be ballin' on a budget
Me and my people do it big out in public cause
Cause if you don't do it big, you ain't doing nothing”
-Big Sean “my last”

Okay completely inappropriate to kick off this blog with rap lyrics considering I will be VIP at the Travis Tritt Concert tonight with my people!

Yep that guy…. Will report back on if he still looks like this.
Happy Half Day Friday!

Happy Diwali & Happy Hump Day

Deepavali or Diwali, popularly known as the "festival of lights," is a Festival celebrated between mid-October and mid-November for different reasons. For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. However, in recent times it is an occasion that is celebrated by Indians of all religions living in India and abroad. The day also has significance for other religions in India.
{thanks wiki}
I learned something about culture today.
I work with a lot of Indians and they shared their pretty outfits and delightful sweets with everyone.
(I can’t lie…. Their sweets aren’t cut out for my belly… NOT AT ALL)

Happy Hump day too!

This Weekend…

-I shopped til I dropped.
-Spent Quality Time with my Mother.
-Got some reading done.
-Saw the colorful mountain leaves.
-Ate some good food.
-Realized my new found love for antiques.
….Overall amazing weekend.

But I am now ready for this week to begin and to get some rest in before another crazy weekend!

61 days til Christmas; 31 days til Thanksgiving; and a little over 3 days til I get to see my lovely BF.

cold house

When I was little I had a book of poems and still to this day I can remember my favorite one….
“There once was a house, a cold, cold house.
A cold, cold house by the sea.
If I were a mouse in that cold, cold house.
What a cold, cold mouse I would be.”

This morning I woke up a cold mouse.
And it’s only going to get worse this weekend.
Off to the Mountains for my mom’s Birthday weekend full of shopping and seeing the leaves change!

Its's Friday.

new week = fresh start

Last week was a toughie.
But its Monday again and that means fresh start.
<Please note this maybe the only time I have ever praised a Monday>
This is a good Monday I can feel it.  My house is clean, and decorated (please note picture below).  We had a fun weekend full of wedding events Friday and Sat.  And a wonderful fall dinner celebration last night, thank you Jake and Candace.
In conclusion, I am ready to take this week by the bull horns and make it a better one then last.

I love this time of year... everything about it!

So for the record I can mutter these words...
Happy Monday Ya'll!
